The majority of restaurant owners – 91 per cent – say a harmonized sales tax in British Columbia will negatively impact their business, according to a survey of the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association’s 4,000 B.C. members.

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario says “product shortages” were up by close to $1 million to $6.5 million for the last year.

While provincial regulations state that licensed establishments in New Brunswick can serve alcohol until 2 a.m., legislation is in force to offer protocol for extending liquor serving hours during special events of provincial, national or international stature.
